The Atlanta University Center Robert W. Woodruff Library and the Atlanta University Center Art History + Curatorial Studies Collective invite AUC students to curate the 2024 AUC Student Art Exhibition. Under the guidance of Curatorial Advisors, Martina Dodd, Program Director of Curation and Object Based Learning, AUC Woodruff Library; Karen Comer-Lowe, Curator in Residence, Spelman College Museum of Fine Art and Dr. Chad Dawkins, Visiting Assistant Professor, Art History & Curatorial Studies, Spelman College; students will put theory into practice as they experience the curatorial process. While prior curatorial experience is not required, students must demonstrate a strong interest in pursuing a curatorial career path. Student-curators will be responsible for every aspect of the exhibition’s development; from generating a call for artists, social media & marketing, curatorial decision-making, and finally, the production of the show, opening in February 2024.
